Hello and welcome to this demo presentation Improving PowerPoint Accessibility. My name is Sean Keegan and I am the Web Accessibility Instructor at the High Tech Center Training Unit for the California Community Colleges. You can find us on the Web at http://www.htctu.net.
This is a demo presentation. In this presentation I will be discussing how to integrate accessibility into the basic features of PowerPoint, using text descriptions for images in PowerPoint, identifying what to do with data tables, working with charts and graphs and the current accessibility issues with PowerPoint animation effects.
This is a demo presentation. When working with Learning Management Systems, it is important to consider the accessibility issues of the following areas: the virtual whiteboard area, the synchronous chat region, quizzes and timed release for students with approved accommodations, and the use of discussion boards.
Publisher e-Packs, while very popular, may require substantial modification in order to improve upon the general accessibility of the content for use with industry-standard assistive technologies. Some publishers will now provide the accessible version of the e-Pack but only upon request.
